Maki is a geisha. She was born in Odawara and has been working as a geisha for 17 years now. There are 150 registered geisha in the Odawara-Hakone area welcoming both foreign and Japanese guests. Maki believes in the true principles of ‘omotenashi’.

What advice do you have for the next generation of women in Japan?

Don’t let anyone stop you doing anything just cause you are a woman!

女性だからといって、諦めないであらゆることに挑戦すること
