Celebrating women in 2018-2019

What is Celebrating Women in Japan?

In 2018 and 2019, I want to celebrate the women of Japan. I meet many terrific, smart and talented Japanese women. They inspire so many. I want to tell their story and spread the word about the incredible contribution women make to Japan. I hope that this project can help spread the word about the incredible contributions women make to Japan.

I asked each woman to answer three questions:

(1) 簡単な自己紹介をお願いいたします。社名や部署名をお書きいただく際は、正式名称でお願いいたします。

 Tell us a bit about yourself.

(2) 日本の政府や企業に期待する、女性が活躍なるための支援はどのようなものがあるでしょうか？

What do you think Japanese companies and/or government needs to do to help women in Japan?

(3)  次世代の若い女性たちへ何かアドバイスはありますか？

What advice do you have for the next generation of women in Japan?

We then posted the answers to these questions to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and this website.

Celebrating Women in Japan is based on the wonderful project created by Dr Kirstin Ferguson in Australia called 'Celebrating Women'.  In 2017, Kirstin gathered profiles of more than 700 women from as many as 37 countries and published a profile every day on social media.
