What do you think Japanese companies and/or government needs to do to help women in Japan?
In Germany, women's engagement in society is much higher than in Japan due to corporates considering work/childcare balance and male participation in childcare etc. Japan has the Gender Equality Bureau but it isn’t well-known and I think it should be much more active.
What advice do you have for the next generation of women in Japan?
After school, I went to art college in London to become an artist. Meeting people from different backgrounds and countries, and learning about differing viewpoints became my foundation. Have passion, as passion will help you overcome things. Be courageous in taking on challenges!
