Today we celebrate Ai Nakajima and Kristina Baumann. Ai and Kristina met in 2011 and were married in Germany last year. Yesterday, they applied to the City of Yokohama for a marriage license. In Japan, there are only 10 municipalities that recognise same-sex ‘partnerships’. Yokohama is not one of them. 10 same sex couples are planning to sue the Japanese Government in February 2019 to have their same-sex marriage recognised. We stand by Ai and Kristina, celebrate and wish them all the best.

彼女らは2011年から交際し、ドイツで2018年9月に同性婚を挙げました。そして昨日横浜市に結婚届を提出しました。現在日本でパートナーシップ条例が制定されているのは10の自治体のみです。
しかし、同性婚は未だ法律で認められていません。彼女らを含む10組が2019年2月に同性婚を求めた全国初の訴訟を行う予定。同性愛のカップルが異性愛のカップルと平等に扱われ胸を張って生きれる社会になるよう願っています。彼女らの強い勇気を心から応援しています。
