Akiko Yanagisawa works at the Trade & Investment Department of the British Embassy in Tokyo. She heads up the team covering sports, economy, financial & business services and third country business. Akiko enjoys playing contract bridge in competitions in Japan and abroad, where she plays for Japan.
What do you think Japanese companies and/or government needs to do to help women in Japan?
Akiko hopes government-led initiatives could be developed that improve the working environment and wages of those engaged in childcare and aged-care nursing homes etc - as these would provide huge support to working women.
